Abstract
The method of catching fixed lift net in the Banyuasin waters still uses traditional lighting so it requires the introduction of LED technology. The study aimed to determine the composition of the catch, compare the catches of LED and petromax and determine the optimum LED light intensity. The study was conducted on November 3-16, 2019 in the waters of Banyuasin, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. The method used was experimental fishing with the light intensity treatments given were control (250-350 lux), LED P1 (250-350 lux) and LED P2 (350-450 lux). The composition of the dominant catches obtained were anchovhy (Stolephorus sp.) 50%, squid (Loligo sp.) 25%, sardine (Sardinella sp.) 7%, ponyfish (Leiognathus sp.) 6%, rainbow sardine (Dussumieria acuta) 5% and other fish 7%. The total composition of the main catches were anchovy and squid by 75% and bycatch by 25%. The difference in light intensity significantly influenced the catch that was in the treatment of LED P1. The most optimum LED light intensity in the study was 300-317 lux.
