Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the role of marital expectation towards marital satisfaction on ta’aruf couples. The hypothesis of this study includes the role of marital expectation towards marital satisfaction on ta’aruf couples. The participant of this study is 80 couples (160 peoples) that married through ta’aruf process. Sampling is done by using incidental sampling techniques. This study uses two scales as a measure, namely the marital satisfaction scale and the marital expectation scale that refers to aspects of marital satisfaction from Mackey O’brien (1995) and the domains of marital expectation from Juvva and Bhatti (2006). Hypotesis testing is done using simple regression analysis. From the test result obtained the results of the hypothesis that there is a role of marital expectation towards marital satisfaction R square=0,302, F=68.463, P=0,000 (p<0,05). Thus the proposed hypothesis is accepted.
