Abstract

One of the marine fisheries products found in Banyuasin Estuary is squid. Type of fishing gear commonly used to catch squid in Banyuasin Estuary is stationary lift net. The aim of this research were to analyze length-weight relationship and to know the growth patern of squid that caught on stationary lift net in Banyuasin Estuary. This research was conducted on 03-16 November 2019 in Banyuasin Estuary, Banyuasin District, South Sumatera Province. Primary data used in this study are data from squid length and weight measurements. There are two species of squid that are predominantly caught are Loligo chinensis and Loligo duvaucelii. Both squid species have mantle lengths ranging from 35 – 90 mm and weights ranging from 3 – 27 grams. The growth patern of Loligo chinensis and Loligo duvaucelii is negative allometric with b values of Loligo Chinensis is 2,19 and Loligo duvaucelii is 2,32.
