Abstract

Christians in Indonesia are not too many, which is around 10% or 16.5 million people are scattered. One of the factors that caused the small number of population caused by prospective pastors or leaders in the church which correlated with theological college in Indonesia in general and specifically in South Sumatra. Theological College is a forum that aims to produce prospective pastors or leaders in the church and also to attract the interest of Christian communities to explore the science of God. For this reason, special education facilities are needed for theological tertiary facilities, which are also equipped with several other supporting facilities, that are student dormitories, apartments, churches and multipurpose buildings. The design of the Theological College uses symbolism architecture to support the goal of developing the Divine knowledge which is the design goal. The symbols in Christianity at the facilities at the Theological College are applied, among others, to buildings that represent symbols such as the 2 Tablets of Stone and triangles. On the site, it is designed to use zoning, that are sacred, semi-sacred, and profane to share the level of privacy of the building. The division of zones is emphasized by the symbol of the Cross and Trinity to bind the three zones. The structure of reinforced concrete buildings is used to support the main function of education, making concrete chosen because its maintenance is easier than other materials. In some buildings that discuss free space steel is used as the main structure. For utility systems used in multi-mass buildings at one point in the electrical section. While for the air flow system, the air, lightning rod and fire protection are spread in each building as needed.
