Abstract

This study aims to describe the self-efficacy profile of students who smoke in SMA Negeri 3 Tanjung Raja. This research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The results were analyzed descriptively quantitatively as described in percentages. The number of samples interviewed was 100 respondents. The results of this study indicate that the smoking behavior of male students in each class X, XI, XII in SMA Negeri 3 Tanjung Raja as a whole tends to be high because each student will smoke at least once a day, the intensity of smoking is included often because students cannot resist not to smoke. In addition, the number of cigarettes spent is as much as 5-7 cigarettes per day. That is because it has become a habit in the neighborhood and friendship environment. Every student tends to have a vulnerable time in smoking between 1 hour to 2 hours. Each student is also able to spend one pack of cigarettes in a period of 7-14 days. In addition, each student consumes each cigarette in a period of 5-7 minutes. For moderate self-efficacy with a percentage of 66%, there is also a high category with a percentage of 17% and the percentage found in low self-efficacy is 17% too. The conclusion of this study is that there is no balance between smoking behavior and self-efficacy it is likely that every student wants to quit smoking but is influenced by friendship and has become a habit for every student.
