Abstract

Palembang City is one of the cities in Indonesia where the economy sector is developing. Its development was seen with the appearance of various shopping malls. Most existing shopping mall building designs only focus on the interior that is separated from the outdoor area. The concept of the shopping mall which the final project is to implement an open corridor as a unity relationship between activities in the buildings with the outdoor area. Shopping malls with open corridors on the edges of Musi River can provide a different shopping atmosphere by selling unique landscape characters on the edges of Musi River as an attraction. The building masses are arranged in eight masses where the faces facing the open corridor or plaza. The Plaza provides free space of view to the Musi River. The Plaza functions as a public space with the river as a magnet view that provides connectivity between the inner and outer spaces of buildings. Shops on the upper floor are connected by bridges that connect between open corridors so as not to be cut off.
