Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of increased calcium nutrient on the growth of mustard (Brassica juncea) and lettuce (Lactuca sativa) plants by using a floating raft hydroponic system. This research has been carried out in the Hydroponic House of Agronomy Study Program Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatera form June – November 2019. The method being used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design, with two factors ie lettuce and mustard and concentration of calcium. The parameters observed included plant height, number of leaves, fresh plants, plant dry weight and concentration of calcium in the leaves. The result shoved that treatment significantly affected the number of leaves and the level of greenness of the leaves. Treatment did not significantly affect plant height, leaf dry weight and leaf fresh weight.
