Abstract

This research is a quantitative research with descriptive research which aims to find out whether there is a profile of self-confidence of students who smoke in class IX students of SMP Negeri 9 Palembang. The population in this study were all male students, amounting to 145. The sample in this study amounted to 35 respondents consisting of all class XI using purposive sampling techniques with criteria a). Based on information from students b). Based on recommendations from the guidance and counseling teacher written in a black book. Data analysis was performed using a percentage formula. The results of the analysis of this study show that the confidence of students who smoke in the high category with a percentage of 11%, while the confidence of students who smoke in the moderate category is 69% and the confidence of students who smoke in the low category is 20%.
