Abstract

Violent behavior is a condition where a person cannot control his angry behavior, so that it is expressed in the form of aggressive physical and or verbal behavior that can injure oneself, others and damage the environment so that it requires effective and appropriate nursing actions. The purpose of writing this scientific paper is to describe and explain the application of nursing care to patients at risk of violent behavior by applying Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). Based on the results of the assessment, the three patients showed tense faces and sharp eyes, the patient said when angry he raged, angry, slammed things / furniture home, damage the door of the house, breaking the object. Based on the results of the assessment, the authors establish a nursing diagnosis that is the risk of violent behavior. The way to overcome these problems is to provide generalist nursing actions by identifying the cause, the usual signs of violent behavior, controlling physical, verbal, spiritual and drug anger and increasing the ability to think and behave positively. The results of the implementation found that the implementation strategy carried out is able to control anger in patients and improve the ability of patients in terms of patient behavior and thoughts to be positive. It is expected that nurses can pay attention to the needs of patients with violent behavior so that problems with patients can be considered and resolved.
