Abstract
Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) is often applied in optimizing vehicle routes. Genetic Algorithm (GA) is one of the methods used to solve problems related to biological genetic processes. Waste transportation in Kertapati District is divided into three working areas. Each working area consists of Temporary Disposal Sites or Tempat Pembuangan Sementara (TPS). Each waste transportation route starts and ends at the Final Disposal Site or Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA). First working area consists of 4 TPS namely TPS Pertamina, TPS Mataram, TPS Karya Jaya Terminal, and TPS Pasar Simpang Sungki. Second working area consists of 4 TPS, TPS YWKA, TPS Pasar Kertapati, TPS Depan Stasiun, and TPS Gajah Mungkur. Third working area consists of 3 TPS, TPS Simpang Sungki, TPS Kertapati and TPS Pintu Besi. By applying GA method on VRP, the optimal routes obtained are: Work area 1 with distance of 35.51 km obtained 5 optimal solutions. Working area 2 with distance of 35.04 km obtained 6 optimal solutions. Working area 3 with a total distance of 34.44 km.
