Abstract

This study aimed to examine the influence of weaknesses in the internal control system, non-compliance with statutory provisions, and follow-up on examination findings in accordance with recommendations on the ranking and status of local government implementation. The population in this study was the regency/city government of South Sumatra with a sample of 4 city’s governments and 8 regency governments for 5 years. The data used were secondary data from IHPS I and II from BPK 2013-2017 and the results of ranking and status of local governments in 2013-2017 from the Ministry of Home Affairs. The data analysis techniques which were used were descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression. The results of this study indicated that the weakness of the internal control system partially had a significant negative influence on the ranking and status of local government implementation. While the non-compliance variable in the statutory provisions and follow-up on examination findings in accordance with recommendations did not significantly influence the ranking and status of local government implementation.
