Abstract

The representation of Islamic civilization in the novel 99 Cahaya di Langit Eropa by Hanum Salsabiela Rais and Rangga Almahendra has been done by discovering the form of Islamic civilization in the novel. This study aims to describe the representation of Islamic civilization in the novel 99 Cahaya di Langit Eropa and its implications in the study of literature in senior high school. This type of research is a qualitative study using the theory of anthropological literature. The approach used is an objective approach with a descriptive analysis research method. Data source in the form of Islamic civilization contained in the novel 99 Cahaya di Langit Eropa. Data collection techniques are documentation techniques and data analysis techniques are content analysis techniques. The results of this study obtained three forms of Islamic civilization in the form of ideas, three form of Islamic civilization in the form of activities, and four categories of Islamic civilization in the form of objects created by humans. The results of the analysis of the periodization of Islamic civilization through the form of Islamic civilization obtained two periods of Islamic civilization described in the novel, namely the classical period consisting of the West Umayy Dynasty in Cordoba, the Nasrid Dynasty in Granada, the Abbasid Dynasty in Baghdad, the Fatimid Dynasty in Cairo, and the middle period consisting of the Dynasty Ottoman Turkey in Istanbul.
