Abstract

Oil palm is a plant that is widely cultivated and has a high production yield in Indonesia. Achievement of high production results can not be separated from the provision of a lot of fertilizer and byproducts produced from the processing process. One of them is organic waste in the form of solid decanter. The purpose of this study was to evaluate differences in growth and nutrient levels of N, P and K of oil palm plants that are fertilized and not fertilized by solid decanters. This research was conducted in the palm oil plantation area of PT. Sampoerna Agro Tbk, Kebun Mesuji, Mesuji District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. Chemical analysis of leaf and rachis samples of plants was carried out at the Integrated Laboratory (IL) of PT. Binasawit Makmur Tbk. This research was conducted from October to March 2020. This study used a t test analysis with an independent sample comparing the 2-year-old immature oil palm plantations (TBM) of 2 semi-clones of Sriwijaya variety fertilized with 15 ton / ha solid decanter (block 13A) with which is not fertilized solid decanter (block 18A). All plants studied were also fertilized with NPK according to recommendations in January 2019. Each block was taken each of 10 plots with each plot having 9 plant samples. The variables observed in this study were oil palm growth in the form of: 1). Grow point height estimate, 2). Number of leaves, 3). Number of midribs, 4). Chlorophyll, 5). Midrib length, 6). Petiole cross section, 7). Average width of leaflets, 8). Average length of leaflets, 9). Plant height, and 10) Nutrient levels N, P and K. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using the t test with independent samples. The results showed that the plants that applied solid decanter gave a significantly different response from plants that were not given solid decanter to increase the number of leaf blades, number of fronds and plant height as well as the levels of P and K nutrients with T test values of 0,001, 0,000, 0,003 for growth variables and 0,006 and 0 on the nutrient content variable. Based on physical form, it also shows that plants which are applied with solid decanter have bigger size, healthier shape and fresher plants than plants which are not applied solid decanter.
