Abstract

This research was carried out in Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency, South Sumatera Province with data from several samples of UPJA institutions . The research was carried out from November to December 2019. The purpose of this research to determine the condition of the development or growth of UPJA institutions in the regions and this research will to compared is based on Minister of Agriculture Regulation No. 25 of 2008 with several parameters used in this research such as the needs and availability of farm machinery of equipment, the feasibility of the rental equipment, the performance of UPJA management in the management of the institution, as well as knowing the problems that hamper the development of UPJA and prepare strategies in developing UPJA for the future. The management system of UPJA institutions in OKU Timur Regency is quite good with the existence of UPJA, institutions have greatly assisted farmers in expanding planting areas and were able to increase food self-sufficiency by fulfilling rice production in OKU Timur even outside the Regency. For rice farming production income of Rp.13.340.000,-/ha every planting season, and farming is considered profitable based on the BCR value on the combine harvester and two-wheeled tractor which is 1.54 and 1.62.
