Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of yam tuber extract (Dioscorea hispida Dennst.) as natural larvacide against to mortality of Culex quinquefasciatus mosquito larvae. This study was conducted by experimentally method with the Complete Random Design (RAL) that consisting of 5 treatments and 5 times replications. The extraction of D. hispida bulbs was carried out by the 70% ethanol maceration method at a ratio of 1:3. The concentration of treatment in this research were 0% (P0); 0.6% (P1); 1.2% (P2); 1.8% (P3); 2.4% (P4). The research Data was analyzed by one-way ANOVA test and continued with the Least Significant Difference test (LSD). Based on the results of ANOVA acquired that D. hispida extract affects the apparent mortality of the larva C. quinquefasciatus. The BNT test showed that over 48 hours of concentration exposure time of 1.8% and 2.4% almost had the same kill power. The KL50-24 value gained from this study was 1.02% and KL50-48 was 0.73%.Information on research results was used as a learning Resource of Student Worksheets (LKPD) in grade X biological learning related to basic competence 3.8. Applying classification principles to classify plants into divisions based on the observation and metagenesis of plants and associate their role in survival on Earth.
