Abstract

PENTI NUR. Abundance and Species Diversity of Canopy Arthropods in Main and Ratoon Rice in Freshwater Swamps Applied with Some Doses of Bioinsecticide from Beauveria bassiana (Bals.) Vuill. (supervised by SITI HERLINDA). One of the obstacles is the cultivation of rice plants, one of which is the attack of pests that can reduce the production of rice and can harm farmers. The use of synthetic insecticides that are commonly used not only controls insect pests but also can disrupt the existence of other useful arthropods and also damage the rice ecosystem. An alternative that can be done to be a substitute in the case of using synthetic insecticides is to use bioinsecticides which are active ingredients of entomopathogenic fungi because they have environmentally friendly properties and also do not harm other arthropods that act as natural enemies. This study aimed to determine how the abundance and diversity of canopy arthropods species in the freshwater swamps paddy fields which were applied some doses of bioinsecticides from Beauveria bassiana (Bals.) Vuill. This research was conducted from May to November 2019 in the village of Pelabuhan Dalam, Pemulutan, Ogan Ilir. This study used a Randomized Block Design with 5 treatments namely Beauveria bassiana (Bals.) Bioinsecticide. with a dose of 1 L.Ha-1, 2 L.Ha-1, 3 L.Ha-1, 4 L.Ha-1, and synthetic insecticide made from abamectin as a negative control treatment. Observation and sampling of canopy arthropods were performed using the net method. The results obtained were that in the main rice season the highest abundance of predator arthropods was found in Beauveria bassiana 1 L.Ha-1 treatment. Likewise, parasitoids were only found in the Beauveria bassiana 1 L.Ha-1 treatment area, while the highest abundance of phytophagic insects was found in Beauveria bassiana 2 L.Ha-1 treatment and abamectin insecticide, but the lowest abundance of phytophagic insects was found in treatment Beauveria bassiana 1 L.Ha-1. In the rice season, the highest abundance of predator arthropods was found in Beauveria bassiana 1 and 2 L.Ha-1treatments. The highest parasitoid abundance was also found in Beauveria bassiana 1 and 4 L.Ha-1 treatments, the highest phytophagic insects in Beauveria bassiana 3, and 4 L.Ha-1 treatments, the highest abundance of neutral insects in Beauveria bassiana 1 L.Ha-1treatment. Neutral insects were not found in the Beauveria bassiana 4 L.Ha-1 treatment during the rice season. Arthropod abundance in the ratoon rice season is higher than the main rice season. Bioinsecticide treatment with active ingredients Beauveria bassiana (Bals.) Vuill. a dose of 1 L.Ha-1 is significantly different from other treatments and is good for the abundance and diversity of predator arthropods and parasitoid abundance and can also reduce the abundance of phytophagic insects.
