Abstract

The purpose of this research are (1) to identify the partnership pattern of cassava farming between farmers and PT Panca Agung Sejati in Gajah Mati Village, (2) analyzing the factors that influence farmers to join the partnership pattern of cassava farming in Gajah Mati Village, (3) identifying household survival strategies of cassava farmers in Gajah Mati Village. This research was conducted in Gajah Mati Village, Sungai Keruh Subdistrict, Musi Banyuasin District. Determination of location is done deliberately. Data collection in this study was conducted in November 2019. The method used was a survey method by taking a sample of 34 people from 132 simple random cassava farmers. Data retrieved are primary data and secondary data. Data processing method used is a descriptive method, chi square test method and SWOT analysis method. From the results of the study, the partnership pattern of cassava farming between farmers and PT Panca Agung Sejati is included in the agribusiness operational cooperation partnership (KOA) pattern. Factors of business experience, capital availability, market guarantees, price guarantees, and participation in farmer groups significantly influence cassava farmers the decision to follow the partnership pattern. The strategic position of the survival strategy of cassava farmers in Gajah Mati Village is in area 1 that supports an aggressive growth policy (Growth Oriented Strategy).
