Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil kemampuan peserta didik dalam program dual kurikulum Cambridge IGCSE untuk menyelesaikan soal biologi Paper 1 dan Paper 2. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Teknik penentuan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Penelitian melibatkan 259 peserta didik yang berasal dari sembilan kelas dari tiga SMA Kota Palembang yaitu SMA Negeri 1 Palembang, SMA Plus Negeri 17 Palembang dan SMA Negeri Sumatera Selatan. Teknik pengumpulan data dari penelitian ini menggunakan 40 soal yang berasal dari soal Cambridge IGCSE pada tahun 2016, 2017, dan 2018. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Profil kemampuan peserta didik di SMA Kota Palembang dalam menyelesaikan soal Cambridge IGCSE masih rendah. Hal ini terlihat dari kemampuan peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan Paper 1 termasuk kedalam kategori G dengan nilai rata-rata 35 dan Paper 2 termasuk kedalam kategori F dengan nilai rata-rata 34. Berdasarkan 21 Topik untuk Paper 1 dan Paper 2 topik yang dapat dikuasi lebih dari 50% hanya Characteristics and classification of living organisms dan untuk topik Transport in animals masih rendah pada Paper 1 mencapai nilai rata-rata 21 dan Paper 2 mencapai nilai rata-rata 19.
