Abstract

Upgrading vacuum residue quality from damage to industrial commodities is carried out within particular stages of the method. The swelling method with supercritical gas CO2 to lose and separate the significant-high carbon series about vacuum residue to decrease process energy loss. This process takes place at a fixed bed reactor by operating requirements temperature (200ºC, 250ºC, 300ºC, and 350ºC), CO2 pressure (100Psi, 120Psi, 140Psi, 160Psi, and 180Psi) and reaction time (60 minutes and 90 minutes). The results of liquid products (liquid) from the swelling process with supercritical from CO2 gas are carried out by the method of analyzing the Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrophotometer (GC-MS) using optimal time under operating requirements of 160Psi pressure, the temperature from 350ºC including reaction time of 90 minutes producing an aromatic compound content of 71,53 %, compound saturates 35,79% and olefin compounds by 10,05%. The swelling factor of the residual vacuum processed gets very good results at 7,14%. Keywords: Vacuum Residue; Swelling Factor; GC-MS.
