Abstract

ABSTRACT ERICHA DAMAYANTI SITINJAK. 08051381621065. The Difference in Operating Time of Lifting Nets to Capture Catches in the Coastal of Banyuasin, South Sumatra (Supervisors : Dr. Fauziyah, S. Pi and Dr. Wike Ayu Eka Putri, S. Pi, M.Si). The marine and fisheries sector in the Coastal of Banyuasin, South Sumatra Province is one of the superior and reliable sectors. Most of the fishermen in this area use stationary lift net fishing gear as a source of livelihood. The stationary lift net is one of the fishing tools used by fishermen because of its relatively low operating costs and fairly easy operation. The difference in operating time of fishing gear affects the number of catches. The purpose of this research is to analyze the composition of the catch and determine the optimum time period of the operation stationary lift net in the Coastal of Banyuasin. This research was conducted on November 3-16, 2019. The data obtained are primary data that have been calculated by weight per-species. The composition of fisheries catches in the Coastal of Banyuasin are Anchovys by 50%, Squid by 28%, Sardinella sp by 9%, Leiognatus sp by 5% and other fish by 8%. The optimum operating period in the Coastal of Banyuasin is 21:00 to 00:00 PM (midnight). Keywords : Stationary Lift net, Catch, Composition, Coastal of Banyuasin, Optimum time period.
