Abstract

The Forage of high fiber usually used by ruminant to meet nutritional needs, however this fluctuative availability of forage needs to be done used silage technology by using Total Mixed Fiber as basal feed which is added with a balance of soluble carbohydrate (SCH) and appropriate proteins to increase digestibility of food substances so as to improve rumen conditions and increase the productivity of buffalo cattle. The purpose of this research was obtained a level ratio of soluble carbohydrate (SCH) and protein in the TMF basal silage ration on fiber digestibility by in vitro. This research was conducted from May until August 2018 at the Nutrition and Feed Laboratory, Department of Livestock and Industry Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The method used of this research is a Completely Randomly Designed (CRD) with 3treatments and 4 replications. Level ratio of soluble carbohydrate (SCH) and protein is added to the TMF silage basal ration. P1 : 300g SCH and 300g protein (1:1), P2 : 600g SCH and 300g protein (2:1), P3 : 900g SCH and 300g protein (3:1). The parameters measured in the in vitro technique were fiber digestibility including neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fiber, hemiselulosa and selulosa. The results showed that the exact level ratio of soluble carbohydrate (SCH) and protein in TMF silage basal ration had significantly different effect (P<0.05) on digestibility of ADF (Acid Detergent Fiber), hemicellulose digestibility and cellulose digestibility, but not significant effect to (P>0.05) digestibility of NDF ( Neutral Detergent Fiber) by in vitro. The conclusion of this research is the best level ratio of soluble carbohydrate (SCH) and protein in the basal ration of total mixed fiber (TMF) silage is 3:1 which can increasing fiber digestibility of buffalo, the value of fiber digestibility are NDF 64,33%, ADF 39,77%, hemiselulosa 36,54% and selulosa 24,34%.
