Abstract
The purposes of this study was to described the process of ecranisation that appears on the events, lines, characters and themes of the novel Critical Eleven by Ika Natassa into Critical Eleven as well as its implications for the teaching of Indonesian language and literature. This study used descriptive qualitative methods. The data source of this study was the novel Critical Eleven by Ika Natassa published by PT Gramedia Pustaka Utama in 2015 with 344 pages thick and Critical Eleven by Monty Tiwa and Robert Ronny produced by Starvision Plus Legacy Pictures with a duration of 135 minutes. Data collection techniques of this study used the techniques of reading, watching, and taking notes. The results showed that there were 102 events in the novel and 54 events contained in the film. There were 25 characters in the novel and 25 characters in the film. The flow in this novels and films were divided into 5 stages, namely situations, generating situations, rising action, climax, and denoument. The themes in the novels and films were divided into major themes and minor themes. Finally, changed in events, plot, character and themes in the novel into the film include: (1) shrinking, (2) addition, and (3) variation. Keywords: rides, ecranisation, novels, films
