Abstract
Pabrik pembuatan Asam Tereftalat berkapasitas 200.000 ton/tahun ini direncanakan didirikan pada tahun 2025 berlokasi di Jalan Sumur Pawon, Kecamatan Jenu, Kabupaten Tuban, Jawa Timur dengan luas area 10 Ha. Proses pembuatan Asam Tereftalat ini menggunakan bahan baku Paraxylene dan Oksigen dengan katalis padat Cobalt Asetat, Mangan Asetat, Perak Asetat, dan Asam Bromida serta Pelarut katalis Asam Asetat. Reaksi berlangsung dalam Continous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) pada Temperatur 185oC dan Tekanan 9,87 atm. Reaksi yang terjadi adalah sebagai berikut : C6H4(CH3)2 + 3/2 O2 C6H4CH3COOH + H2O P-xylene Asam p-toluat C6H4CH3COOH + O2 C6H4COHCOOH + H2O Asam p-toluat 4-CBA C6H4COHCOOH + ½ O2 C6H4(COOH)2 4-CBA Asam Tereftalat C6H4(CH3)2 + 3 O2 C6H4(COOH)2 + 2 H2O P-xylene Asam Tereftalat Perusahaan berbentuk perseroan terbatas (PT) yang dipimpin oleh seorang Direktur Utama. Sistem organisasi perusahaan adalah line and staff dengan total karyawan 160 orang. Total Capital Investment (TCI) mencapai US$ 98.123.974,88. Rate of return on investment yaitu 82,33 %. Break Even Point yaitu 25,20 %. Berdasarkan analisa ketersediaan bahan baku, kebutuhan dan manfaat asam tereftalat, proses, kebutuhan utilitas, lokasi, susunan organisasi dan ekonomu, maka pabrik asam tereftalat ini layak didirikan. Kata Kunci: Asam Tereftalat, Reaktor, Paraxylene, Oksigen, Katalis, Pelarut.
