Abstract
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infections disease that is still a major public health in Indonesia. The incidence of DHF South Sumatra Province is 486 cases with 4 deaths. The Working Area of Sako Social Public Health Center is DHF endemic areas in which the cases increased from 21 cases in 2018 to 26 cases in 2019. The purpose of this study was to analysis the occurrence of DHF im the working area of Sako Public Health Center in 2019. This quantitative research with unmatched case control designed and furthermore conducted interviews with open-ended questions to explore the information on some of the research variables. Number of samples was 41 cases and 41 controls. The sampling technique used Simple Random Sampling. The data were analyzed by using univariate and bivariate analysis with chi-square test. the results shows that statistically, the variables which have significant relation with the occurrence of DHF disease are variable practices of PSN (p-value = 0,002; OR = 2,3), the habit of hanging clothes (p-value = 0,001; OR = 24), the sleep habits of morning / afternoon (p-value = 0,013; OR = 3,5), the using of bed nets (p-value = 0,002; OR = 0,431), the using mosquito reppelents at noon (p-value = 0,000; OR = 85), the installation of wire netting (p-value = 0,000; OR = 170), the density of occupants (p-value = 0,005; OR = 4,6), and the breeding places (p-value = 0,010; OR = 0,078). There is significant relationship between the practice of PSN, ), the habit of hanging clothes, the sleep habits of morning / afternoon, the installation of wire netting, the density of occupants, and the breeding places with the occurrence of DHF disease.Environmental conditions and behavior of the community are the greater factor in increasing the risk incidence of DHF. It is suggested for society to community the efforts to prevent and eradicate the DHF transmissions and for Sako Public Health Center to improve the performance of DHF eradication program.
