Abstract
This research was aimed to observe growth and yield of red spinach cultivated in floating culture system with different Black Soldier Fly manure compositions, harvest time and seeding rate. This research was conducted from January to June 2020 at Jakabaring (104º46’44” E; 3º01’35” S), Palembang city. This research consisted with two sequences. First, floating culture system with different Black Soldier Fly manure compositions and harvest time. This research was arranged on factorial randomized block design with 2 factors. Second, red spinach cultivated on different Black Soldier Fly manure compositions and plant populations based on seed rate. This research was arranged on factorial randomized block design with 2 factors. The result exhibited the Black Soldier Fly manure composition, harvest time, and seed planting population affect growth and yield of red spinach. Higher composition of Black Soldier Fly manure did not show positive effect to red spinach’s growth and yield in floating culture system. In brief, the best treatment was resulted from media mixed with 10% Black Soldier Fly manure, harvested on 28 days after planting. Red spinach seeding rate of 0,03 g seeds showed the optimum growth and yield.
