Abstract
Set covering models is part of integer linear programming which aims to minimize the number of locations of service facilities but can serve all points of demand. This research attempts to optimize location of hospitals and clinics that have emergency unit facility in Palembang. This optimization uses set covering models, that includes Location Set Covering Problem (LSCP) and P-median Problem using branch and bound solver on Lingo 13.0 software, along with P-median Problem completed with Greedy Reduction Algorithm (GRA). Palembang consists of 18 sub-districts, which are Bukit Kecil, Gandus, Ilir Barat I, Ilir Barat II, Kertapati, Seberang Ulu I, Ilir Timur I, Ilir Timur II, Kalidoni, Kemuning, Plaju, Sako, Seberang Ulu II, Sematang Borang, Sukarami, Jakabaring, and Ilir Timur III sub-districts. Calculation using set covering models and GRA results concludes that there are be 9 hospitals and clinics that have emergency unit locations that should be built so that it can serve 18 sub-districts in Palembang where 9 locations are in Ilir Barat II, Ilir Timur III, Gandus, Seberang Ulu I, Alang-Alang Lebar, Sematang Borang, Sukarami, Plaju, and Kertapati sub-districts.
