Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the effect of shade and doses of NPK fertilizer on growth and yield of celery (Apium graveolens L.). The research was conducted in October to December 2019 on Agro Training Center (ATC) Faculty of Sriwijaya Agricultural University. The study uses the Strip plot design which consists of two factors. The first factor was the percentage ratio of shade, consisting of N0 = without shade, N1 = 50% shade. The second factor was the difference in NPK dose, consisting of D0 = 0g NPK/plant, D1 = 5g NPK/plant, D2 = 10g NPK/Plant and D3 = 15g NPK/plant. The results of variance analysis showed shade treatment has a good effect on the growth of celery plants, especially on the parameters of chlorophyll and canopy wet weight. The NPK fertilizer doses treatment did not affect the growth of celery plants, but the 15g / plant treatment tended to give better yield than other treatments. There was no interaction between the shade treatment and NPK dosage, but 50% shade treatment and 15g/plant NPK doses gave better yield.
