Abstract
Solar energy, one of the unlimited alternative energy, was environmentally friendly and can resolve the limited availability of fossil energy. Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) was a technology that converted solar energy into electrical energy based on sensitivity to dyes. Many factors influenced DSSC performance, and one of them is the dye used. The dye used was derived from organic ingredients contain dye carotene. Dye was obtained from the flower extracts of Kenikir, Kuning Rawa, Nipah, and Nipah's fruit extract. DSSC was tested with variations of solvent types in the pH of the extracted solution. The solvents used were methanol and aquadest. The pH variations of the extraction solution used were the initial pH and the pH that has been reduced in all the dye extraction results. This research consisted of several stages, were DSSC structure preparation, DSSC arrangement and assembly, DSSC testing, and data analysis. The used as working and comparative electrodes, was had resistance between 0.35 kΩ to 19.38 kΩ. This research was observed several parameters, were dye absorbance characteristics, current, voltage, power, fill factor, and DSSC efficiency. The highest efficiency was obtained from DSSC 14 (Kuning Rawa flowers dye with methanol solvent and pH 1,4) of 3.85884%. It produced electrical characteristics with Voc, Isc, Pmax, FF values of 560 mV, 0.0230 mA, 5.4002 mW, and 0.4193.
