Abstract
Sleep disorder is a disease that is often overlooked, this condition if it continues to be ignored it will greatly affect the health of sufferers. Expert systems to diagnose early sleep disorders are needed. Expert systems are built using methods Certainty Factor and Backpropagation. Methods Certainty factor and Backpropagation will be compared in terms of their accuracy in diagnosing sleep disorders. Certainty Factor is a method that can overcome uncertainty in decision making. Backpropagation is a guided training method. In this study, system testing was performed using the method Confusion Matrix. In this study used 18 symptoms of sleep disorders, 6 types of sleep disorders and 24 testing cases. From the 24 test cases, the accuracy rate is 100% in the method Certainty Factor and 70.83% in the method Backpropagation. It can be concluded that the method Certainty Factor is better at diagnosing sleep disorders.
