Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of authentic assessment in the material class X animalia science and the obstacles faced by biology teachers in the implementation of authentic assessment. The research method uses descriptive evaluative research with a stake evaluation model. Subjects of teachers and students of class X science research by selecting the Stratified Random Sampling sample. Analysis of the observation sheet and the completeness of the document uses the Guttman measurement scale type "Yes-No", the questionnaire sheet uses the Likert scale criteria, and the interview sheet uses the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the study concluded that 60% of the completeness of authentic assessment documentation in the Ogan Ilir District school, especially in animalia class X science material included in the category quite complete. Teachers' understanding of the preparation of authentic assessment by 32% was quite good, understanding of the authentic assessment planning 65.4% was good, and understanding of the implementation of the assessment reached a percentage of 59.74% including the quite good category. Every aspect assessed in an authentic assessment is carried out well in terms of aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Constraints on the implementation of authentic assessment in state high schools in Ogan Ilir District based on the results of interviews found that teachers feel lack of time in assessing, too many learning tools to be compiled, lack of motivation of students in learning, the number of students who exceed the quota and the lack of teaching aids in schools .
