Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between torso flexibility and leg length and sprint running speed of students in state junior high school. The method used is the correlation with the processing power of the linear and multiple correlation coefficients. The population in this study amounted to 140 people and taken as many as 60 people to take the test in two meetings using random sampling. Test data were analyzed using multiple regression. Correlation analysis results of test and measurement data show that all variables have a very strong relationship, with a significant level of α = 0.05, in terms of the correlation index between the determination of Toggle (X1) with sprint running (Y) get a value of r = 0.99 or 99%, the relationship between leg length X2) and sprint running (Y) gets a value of r = 0.96 or 96%, and the relationship between torso flexibility and leg length with the results of sprint running gets a value of R2 = 2.47. Therefore the torso flexibility and leg length have a significant effect on sprint running speed. The implication in this study is to find out how big and is there a relationship between torso flexibility and leg length with the sprint running speed of junior high school students in sprint running.
