Abstract
Most work accidents that occured in industry were caused by unsafe behavior by a worker. Behavior Based Safety Approaching was one of the most effective ways to prevent accidents. This study aimed to analyze the Behavior Based Safety of workers in the Department of Operation P-IIB PT Pusri Palembang based on the Antecedent-Behavior-Concequences (ABC) model. This research was an analytical survey research with quantitative methods and cross-sectional design. The population in this study amounted to 81 workers in the P-IIB operations department of PT Pusri Palembang. A sample of 64 respondents were taken by simple random sampling technique. Data Analysis was univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test. Based on the results of the study, the majority of workers have behaved safely well (93.8%) at work. Statistical analysis showed that there were 2 variables of the Antecedent factor, namely knowledged (p = 0,000; PR = 27,000 with 95% CI: 2,412 - 302,193), safety signed (p = 0.019; PR = 9,000 with 95% CI: 1,066 - 76,017) , and consequence factors were rewards (p = 0,000; PR = 1,444 with 95% CI: 1,005 - 2,075) which have a relationship with Behavior Based Safety workers. Thus there were three variables that have a relationship with behavior based safety namely, knowledge, safety signs , and awards. While the variables that have not relationship with behavior based safety were regulatory and supervisory procedures, and penalties. Suggestions were given in this study included, behavior-based application is highly recommended, the HSE department and supervisors supervise workers, conducted briefings or safety induction between work shifts, increased the involvement of workers to monitor related reporting procedures for accidents or dangerous conditions in the company, give awards to the worker.
