Abstract
This study aims to transliterate the manuscript and see the form of oral traditions contained in the Sari Literature text. Researchers used qualitative descriptive methods, data were collected using transliteration techniques, literature, listening and note taking, the data were analyzed using the philological and anthropological approaches of literature. Philological approach to transliterate texts and literary anthropology approaches to observe the form of oral traditions. The analysis shows that there are seven forms of tradition contained in the Sari Literature text. These oral traditions are (1) local language and literacy traditions, (2) oral literary traditions, (3) folk performance and play traditions, (4) traditional technological traditions, (5) symbolism or symbolism, (6) art traditions and folk music, and (7) panoramic traditions or natural conditions. This research can be applied in learning literature in schools at the level of Senior High School (SMA) class XI odd semester 2013 curriculum. Basic Competence (KD) that is relevant to this research is KD 3.8 Basic competence in question is to identify the values of life contained in a collection of short stories that are read. This research is important to convey because it will add insight into the form of oral traditions in Indonesia.
