Abstract

Hypertension is a disease that is often found in primary health care. The prevalence of hypertension in Sabokingking Public Health Center has increased, where in 2017 it was 21.7%, while in 2019 it became 30.4%. This study aims to find out how prevention and control efforts made by Sabokingking Health Center in reducing the prevalence of hypertension. The research used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The research informants consisted of the person in charge of the PTM program, the health promoter, the person in charge of the prolanis program, cadres and hypertension sufferers. The results of the study found that from the aspect of partnership there was still a lack of coordination between Puskesmas and cross-sectors to discuss program constraints and progress, so that the existing obstacles from year to year had not been overcome. In the advocacy effort, the Puskesmas only advocates for the kelurahan and only gets support in terms of HR. When viewed from the aspect of health promotion, CIE media in the form of leaflets and leaflets have not met the requirements of good CIE media, and counseling activities that have not been accompanied by direct practice. The aspect of strengthening health services is influenced by community access in utilizing health services, as well as the ability of cadres and lack of health equipment. In addition, the qualifications and quantity of surveillance personnel are not in accordance with existing regulations, and from the monitoring of evaluations there is still no evaluation of risk factors for hypertension. The conclusion of this study is the prevention and control of hypertension based on overall variables have not been running optimally so that the prevalence of hypertension in the work area of Sabokingking Public Health Center has not decreased. Therefore, the Sabokingking Health Center needs to advocate for the Palembang Health Office and Mayor, ask for a more effective partnership model, raise self-help funds, utilize media and IEC methods, add Posbindu cadres, train cadres, improve the Puskesmas network, try to monitor surveillance monitoring and evaluation monitoring systems in order to increase the prevalence of hypertension in the work area of the Sabokingking Health Center can be multiplied.
