Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) has an aim to creating a safe and healthy work environment so as to prevent damage to workers due to work and/or health that occur from the work. An aluminium craftsmen business in Social Village Majasari District South Prabumulih is a business that involves manual handling activities so that there is has a risk of work accidents and the lack of information on workers about the potential hazards in the job, then it is necessary to to analyze the potential hazards using the risk assessment Preliminary Hazard Analysis. This research uses a qualitative using descriptive approach through in-depth interview, hazard checklist, and PHA worksheet. There are 12 informants in this study consisting of 8 informants and 4 key informants. The results showed that hazards were identified through the work process among others a low risk category of 4 for sharp objects, aluminium, existing equipments around the work environment, hammer; a medium risk category at the hot work climate with a value of 5, lighting and ergonomic hazards worth 10, and the high risk category is noise with a value of 15. The hazards with a high risk category can be done by applying aministrative control such as setting work hours, health monitoring, planting noise silencer plants, and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The government suggested to make a special program of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) which is namely establishment occupational health posts (Pos UKK) for the aluminium craftsmen working area of Tanjung Raman Health Center.
