Abstract

This research has been carried out in the Experimental Station of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, Ogan Ilir. This research was conducted from August to December 2019. This study used a factorial randomized block design, the treatment consisted of 2 factors with 3 replications, the first factor was the time of fertilizer application, which consisted of 3 levels, namely W1: Fertilization once a week to 6 Week After Plant (WAP), W2: Fertilization once a week to 7 WAP, and W3: Fertilization once a week until 8 WAP. The second factor was the doses of KCl fertilizer which consists of 3 levels, namely a dose of 100 kg K2O ha-1, a dose of 150 kg K2O ha-1, and a dose of 200 kg K2O ha-1. The results showed that the combination treatment of fertilization once a week till 6 WAP and the dose of potassium fertilizer of 100 kg K2O ha-1 gave the best effect on dissolved sugars, harvest age, and leaf K content. Combination treatment, the combination of fertilization one week until 7 WAP and the dose of potassium fertilizer of 100 kg K2O ha-1 gave the best effect on fruit weight and thickness of fruit flesh. At the time of application of fertilizer there was a difference in the absorption of K content, the application time fertilizer W1 (1-6 weeks) after planting was the best, while the time of giving W3 (1-8 weeks) after planting was not good because it was done 2 days before harvest time which, cause potassium fertilizer not absorbed optimally.
