Abstract

This research examines the “Utilization of Transportation Mode DAMRI Bus Muara Enim – Palembang (Study on DAMRI Bus Users in Muara Enim Terminal). The purpose of this study was to determine the use of the Transportation Mode DAMRI Bus Muara Enim – Palembang. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive approach. The number of informants in this study were 8 peoples who were selected purposively. The technique of collecting data was done by observation, interviews, and documentation. This research uses Rational Choice theory (James S. Coleman) and Perception (Sarwono). The results of this study founds that 1) The public’s perception of DAMRI Bus as the main transportation and important means of supporting their mobility; 2) The availability of facilities and infrastructure is quite good; 3) The use of DAMRI Bus, namely as means of going to work, studying, shopping, recreation, and going home.
