Abstract

Hypertension is the silent killer, so treatment is often too late. Quality of life in old age is a subjective perception that influences health status both physical function, psychological and social well-being as well as good physical abilities, feeling quite personally and still feeling useful, participation in social life, and good in its social economy. Chronic illnesses are not easy to deal with not just because of the nature of the disease or its treatment, but because it must be suffered for a long time. Chronic illnesses experienced by society today will have an impact and burden on the family, if the treatment is done in an intensive and sustainable manner. This study aims to analyze the quality of life of elderly participants who are hypertension prolanis participants. Research method with cross-sectional design, a sample of 87 elderly who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria in the working area of the Kenten Laut Health Center. Sampling technique with total sampling. Analysis of logistic binary regression test data. The results showed the quality of life of elderly peseta prolanis who suffer from hypertension with a poor quality of life was 44.8%. There is a relationship between sex with the quality of life of elderly prolanis participants with hypertension (p-value 0.013, there is a relationship between the duration of hypertension and the quality of life of elderly prolanis participants with hypertension (p-value 0.011), there is a relationship between the history of other illnesses with the quality of life of elderly participants prolanis patients with hypertension (p-value 0.003), there is a relationship between regular consumption of drugs with the quality of life of elderly participants who are hypertensive prolanis participants (p-value 0.018) .The most dominant variable influences the quality of life of prolanic respondents who suffer from hypertension is the duration of hypertension p-value <0.05 which is 0.001, it can be done to improve the quality of life of the elderly by increasing the quality of prolanic services of patients with hypertension.
