Abstract

The rampant corruption practices in all forms of its modus operandi and involve many perpetrators. These perpetrators often take refuge in government power, detectable or difficult to find. It takes courage from every member of society, especially the perpetrators themselves, to reveal and cooperate with law enforcers, who are involved in a corruption case. Witness perpetrators who work together to uncover certain criminal acts are called Justice Collaborators. On the basis of the above problems discussed about (1) What is the urgency of Justice Collaborator in disclosing corruption cases? (2). How is the protection of a perpetrator witness who collaborates (Justice Collaborator) in disclosing corruption? This research uses the juridical-empirical method. To discuss the first problem, urgency theory is used, while for the second problem, legal protection theory is used. From the results of the research discussion, it is concluded that (1). The urgency of Justice Collaborator or commonly known as perpetrator witness is helping law enforcement officials to uncover a criminal case due to the limited evidence that law enforcers have. It must be admitted that the many disclosures of criminal cases, especially corruption, cannot be separated from witness testimony which is used as evidence. (2). Forms of Protection for Justice Collaborators are: Physical and Psychic Protection, Special Handling, Legal Protection and Respect
