Abstract
Culture is a way of life owned by a group passed down from generation to generation. Culture becomes important for the existence of a group, because it becomes the identity of the group. Ogan Komering Ulu is a district in South Sumatra Province, Ogan Komering Ulu is a regency in South Sumatra Province, Ogan Komering Ulu is very rich with art and culture, including dance arts, music, literary arts, theater arts, traditional sports, cultural events, in addition to local heritage that includes traditional houses, historical buildings, traditional clothes, handicrafts, and folklore. Ogan Komering Ulu regional culture as a sub of National Culture is under intense pressure by the current modernization, industrialization and globalization. Local cultural values come face to face with the demands of pragmatism, which in many ways cultural practice and practice will be seen from practical, effective and economical aspects. The problem can presumably be solved by the provision of a container to introduce ogan komering ulu culture, with some aspects such as public space, creative and comfortable. The planning and design of OKU District Cultural Center carries the theme of "Representation" with an architectural approach, Space as a visualization with an approach that focuses on the shape and appearance of the space and its correlation with other spaces. The focus on design will focus on the footprint that can give the impression of the culture itself. Architecturally and structurally, the building will have elements that exist in the Traditional Traditional house namely Ogan House which will be the façade and structural elements of the building.
