Abstract

Dragon fruit is one of the horticultural crops that have great potential to be cultivated at Indralaya, having sweet taste and unique, dragon fruit has attracted the public attention for consumption and cultivated this plant. Dragon fruit did not have difficult conditions to grow as long as not being flooded and drought. This field practice aims to get the information about the cultivation of dragon fruit, starting from land and seed preparation, planting, maintenance and harvesting at the district of North Indralaya Ogan Ilir. This field work has been done at Dragon Fruit Garden District of North Indralaya Ogan Ilir district from November 2014 March 2015. The implementation of field practice done by observation method, the author directly observed the dragon fruit cultivation techniques. The results of this field practice is the cultivation of dragon fruit plants required special cultivation techniques, especially during plant maintenance so that the desired results can be achieved. There are four types of dragon fruit plants cultivated in the gardens dragon fruit is a white-fleshed dragon fruit, dragon fruit fleshy red, super red fleshed dragon fruit dragon fruit yellow skin and white flesh, all types of dragon fruit derived from breeding by stem cuttings.
