Abstract

Background: Pregnancy is the growth and development of an intrauterine fetus starting from conception and ending until the beginning of labor. Changes in the musculoskeletal system that occur during pregnancy include changes in posture, spine or back pain as well as stretching of the abdominal muscles. Lower back pain (NPB) due to pregnancy is a clinical syndrome characterized by the main symptoms of pain or other unpleasant feelings in the back of the body from the last rib to the buttocks or anus due to the influence of hormones that cause interference with the substance of the base of the buffer and connective tissue, resulting in decreased elasticity and muscle flexibility. Purpose: This literature review was determine the effect of Kinesio taping for reduce on pain to low back pain in pregnancy Methods: Qualitative research with a literature review approach uses content analysis with a search method using an electronic data base consisting of, Google Scholar, Science Direct, and Pub-Made. Inclusion criteria: Research journal focusing on kenisio taping and low back pain in pregnancy which can be accessed in full text by 2011-2019. Results: Research on kenisio taping and low back pain in pregnancy has been carried out in several countries with different methods. The results of a literature review illustrate that the majority use of kenisio taping therapy has a significant effect in reducing low back pain in pregnancy. Conclusions and recommendations: This therapy can be used as an alternative therapy in reducing low back pain because it is easy to do, comfortable, feasible, does not use large costs, and is not invasive. This therapy can also be combined with other therapies such as back exercise.
