Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesulitan-kesulitan yang dialami mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal dinamika hukum Newton di Program Studi Pendidikan Fisika Universitas Sriwijaya. Subjek penelitian adalah 42 mahasiswa Pendidikan Fisika angkatan 2018 kelas Indralaya. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada 17 September sampai 17 Oktober tahun 2020. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes dan dokumentasi. Pengambilan data menggunakan instrumen yang telah divalidasi dengan dosen pembimbing, yang berjumlah 5 soal esai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan saat menyelesaikan soal-soal dinamika hukum Newton. Kesulitan yang dialami mahasiswa yaitu kesulitan membaca soal, kesulitan menerapkan konsep, kesulitan menggunakan rumus, dan kesulitan memahami konsep. Kesulitan yang paling dominan dialami oleh mahasiswa adalah kesulitan menerapkan konsep dan kesulitan yang paling sedikit dialami oleh mahasiswa adalah kesulitan membaca soal.
