Abstract

Community empowerment in the management of Pelangi Beach tourism attractions by the Environmental Agency of South OganKomering Ulu Regency using empowerment means enabling, empowering, and protecting and processing through awareness, the transformation of ability, and intellectual improvement abilities. The object of this research is the people who live in the area of Padang Ratu Village, South OganKomering Ulu Regency.This research examines how and the empowerment process in managing the Pelangi beach tourism attraction carried out by the Environment Agency of South OganKomering Ulu Regency. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative with the main informants, such as the staff of the Environment Agency that manages Pelangi Beach, the residents of Padang Ratu Village who follow the empowerment program, and members of the field of Waste Management, Waste B3, And Capacity Building and supporting informants, namely people who have visited Pelangi Beach, people who have businesses in Pelangi Beach and people who voluntarily participate in guarding the area of Pelangi Beach. The data collection technique used is by interviewing in-depth and open to the main informants and supporting informants, observations, and documentation. This research can be known that community empowerment in the management of tourist attractions Pelangi Beach conducted by the Environment Agency of South OganKomering Ulu Regency by using ways and processes in empowerment. The way in empowerment is by enabling joint discussion and counseling, empowering in opening business stalls and infrastructure builders, facilities and infrastructure and protecting in roving patrolling activities, waste management and checking existing facilities in Pelangi Beach. While the empowerment process is carried out through regional selection, socialization, routine meetings, improving the ability to process coffee, making eight ingkok, making sugar ants, packaging products, creating second hand goods, and promoting rainbow beaches through social media Instagram.
