Abstract

Arabian chickens are a type of poultry that has the potential to be a new primadonna in the world of laying hens. As for some of the advantages of Arabic chickens, among others : easy maintenance, high egg productivity and adaptability to the environment as well as good resistance to disease. As for efforts to obtain good egg hatchability, careful handling is necessary accompanied by observation of development starting from embryo growth. Hatching machine is one of the artificially created hatcheries by providing appropriate environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and air circulation) so that the embryos in the eggs develop optimally, so that the eggs can hatch properly. The research consists of three stages including: preparing the tools and materials, operating the tools and calculating the radiation heat transfer rate against the technical specification of the ceramic heater. Ceramic heater that is used has a power of 50 Watt. The parameters observed include: calculated parameters and measured parameters. As for the results of the study, it was found that the incubator room dimensions were 1,712 m2, the heat load in the incubator room was 80,56 kcal/h or 93,69 W, the required heat capacity was 40.637,10 J/0C, the rate of radiation heat transfer on the machine walls hatch 85,61 W, the radiation intensity of the heating lamp is 696,74 W/m2, the avarege use of electrical energy is 6,96 W/h and the heating efficiency value is 52%.
