Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out exactly how the conditions and efforts of the people of Ogan Komering Ulu during the struggle in maintaining independence from the allies' desire to regain Indonesia again. This research was conducted in the Ogan Komering Ulu region by using historical methods or historical methods using data collection techniques in literature studies and interviewing techniques obtained from the 1945 veterans of Ogan Komering Ulu. From the research that has been done, it is obtained a result which can prove that Ogan Komering Ulu played a role in facing allies in the event to defend the independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The incident took place in two stages namely, the first was called the Dutch Military Aggression to I in 1947 and the second was called Military Aggression to II in 1949. In this event the people of Ogan Komering Ulu (security agencies, youth and community) fought against allies in order to maintain independence Indonesia. In this case very many fighters who move voluntarily for the country without coercion from other parties. The struggle carried out by the people of Ogan Komering Ulu in various ways is by direct confrontation and diplomacy. This effort was successfully carried out in view of the difficulty of the allies entering the Ogan Komering Ulu region because a lot of resistance was carried out in each administrative area of Ogan Komering Ulu. So that the effort ended with the Round Table Conference (KMB) in 1949 which aimed to resolve problems between Indonesia and its allies.
