Abstract

Breast cancer is the biggest cause of death in Indonesia. According to WHO data, more than 108,000 women died in 2018 due to breast cancer. In South Sumatra the incidence of breast cancer continues to increase every year. This research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design method with a Pretest-Posttest with Control Group. With a total sampling technique of 42 respondents who were members of PIK-R at 7 Palemabang Senior High School, the data analysis in this study was univariate, bivariate analysis with paired-test for normal group distribution, and Welcoxon test for abnormal group distribution. The results of the bivariat research showed that there were differences in knowledge, attitudes and skills after and before being given treatment in the intervention group, the value was (<0.0001) smaller than alpha (α = 0.05), while for the control group there was no difference in knowledge, attitudes. and skills after and before being given treatment in the control group obtained a value (> 0.0001) greater than alpha (α = 0.05). BKKBN increasing supervision in providing necessary services related to health information in breast cancer prevention by implementing BSE.
