Abstract

Background: Cultural diplomacy is an art form of negotiation that uses culture as a medium. Cultural diplomacy carried out by France in Indonesia through the France d'Indonesie Institute (IFI) is a form of France's effort to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and France which uses the media. culture such as film, music, fashion, and food so that there are many impacts that occur in several sectors which form cooperation, especially in 2015 to 2018. Method: qualitative descriptive, which is a research without a calculation process and the strength of numbers but obtained through literature study. Result: The Cultural Diplomacy carried out by France in Indonesia through the IFI, the more activities carried out every year, the more IFI's ways to enter the sectors of society in diplomacy, with this cultural diplomacy also training and French-Indonesian cooperation. began to take shape a lot. Conclusion: The Cultural Diplomacy carried out by France to Indonesia through IFI can be said to be successful because of the increased interest and the increasing number of cultural activities carried out by IFI as well as the increasing number of collaborations that occur.
