Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between marital commitment and marital satisfaction in husband with working wife in Palembang City. The hypothesis of this study includes the relationship between marital commitment and marital satisfaction in husband with working wife in Palembang City. The population of this study is a husband who has a working wife in the city of Palembang. The research sample was 150 people and for the trial as many as 50 people. Sampling is done using incidental sampling techniques. This study uses two scales as a measure, namely the marital satisfaction scale and the marital commitment scale that refers to aspects of marital satisfaction from Olson, Fournier, and Druckman (Fowers & Olson, 1989) and the dimensions of marital commitment from Stanley and Markman (1992). Hypothesis testing is done using Pearson product moment correlation. From the test results obtained the results of the hypothesis that there is a relationship between marital commitment and marital satisfaction R = 0.224, P = 0.006 (p <0.05). Thus the proposed hypothesis is accepted.
