Abstract

Concrete is a material that has low tensile strength compared to other materials. If a crack occurs, the quality of the concrete will decrease so that new innovations will be made to cover the cracks in the concrete. The innovation is self-healing cocrete which uses bacteria as an agent that can seal concrete cracks. This study used a 6% Bacillus Subtilis solution with a concentration of 106 cells / ml as a partial substitute for water in the concrete mixture. The treatment methods used were water immersion, steam and wrapping for 7 days, 14 days and 28 days. Tests carried out in this study are slump testing, compressive strength testing, specific gravity testing and water absorption testing. In the slump test discussed in this study, it is known that the concrete mixture has no significant effect on the properties of fresh concrete. In the compressive strength test, the maximum compressive strength was obtained of 26.32 MPa with the treatment method of immersing in water at 28 days of concrete. The density obtained in this study can be ignored that the more bacteria mixed into the concrete can increase the density of the concrete. In water absorption, it can be tested that the more bacteria, the more pores will be covered so that it can reduce water absorption
